Mr. Gacy, an amateur clown, was known to draw victims to his home with the promise of (construction) work, and when body after body was found in his home in the late 1970s, families came forward. But in some cases, insufficient or nonexistent dental records made (identification) impossible. Others among the dead may have been estranged from their families, and others may have come from other states.
As part of his new look at the case, Sheriff Dart’s team has (searched) old travel records that (belonged) to Mr. Gacy and looked at missing persons reports from the many towns he traveled through.
Might there somehow be other bodies newly tied to Mr. Gacy as well? “We’ve got tentacles going everywhere,” the sheriff said. “Our focus is on the eight.”
